Robbie Burns Day

Today we celebrate the beloved Poet of Scotland, Robert Burns.  As ceremonial haggis' are  prepared, kilts are fastened and bagpipes checked, we remember this great man, not only in Scotland, but in the rest of the world.  His many poems reflected his love of his home country and people but one of his most famous will be recited through out the world tonight, The Address Tae The Haggis...The poem was written by Burns to celebrate his appreciation of the Haggis.  As a result, Burns and Haggis have been forever linked.  This particular poem is always the first item on the programme of Burns' supper.  The haggis is generally carried in on a silver salver at the start of the proceedings.
